History
Shallbetter, Inc. is an innovator in the power distribution, power quality
and power generation markets. Since our humble beginnings in Huron, SD, more
than two decades ago, we have focused on the high quality products and
customer-oriented solutions that are now synonymous with the Shallbetter
name.
Founded in 1982, Shallbetter initially focused on commercial markets. The
company grew quickly, entering into private branding agreements with major
manufacturers, including ABB, Siemens, GE, Square D and others.
In just 30 short months, the company enhanced its focus on the utilities
sector, expanding its product offerings in medium voltage switchgear.
When the company relocated to a custom-built facility in Oshkosh, Wisconsin,
in 1997, Shallbetter simultaneously entered the power generation market. By
1999, the company offered a complete systems approach, supplying
distribution switchgear, generator controls and paralleling switchgear. In
2001, Shallbetter further diversified its product offerings to include
mobile utility-grade switchgear, remote communications and on-site
networking.
Today, Shallbetter has relocated to a new Oshkosh-based facility to
accommodate its ever-growing business while it continues to offer
high-quality, customer-oriented solutions.
